I am an Enrolled Agent licensed to practice anywhere in the United States.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I enjoy helping others, solving problems, and providing solutions that get people excited.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Juris Doctorate in law and am an Enrolled Agent licensed with the IRS. I am also a licensed Real Estate Broker in California and Massachusetts.

How did you get started in this business?

Ten years ago during the housing crisis I managed the Foreclosure Prevention Department at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, California. Later, I got my California Real Estate Brokers License and opened my own office helping distressed homeowners.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with individuals, families, and small business entrepreneurs of all walks of life. I particularly enjoy working with real estate professionals and investors.

Describe a recent event of which you are fond.

I recently did some pro bono work for a 501(c)(8) non-profit regarding reinstating the organization’s tax exempt status. The work I did was free and not tax deductible. However, the work itself was rewarding and I learned a lot in the process. Money is not always the true source of reward.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Don't always assume that big-box or national brand retailers are your best choice. Sourcing from local professionals may often be ideal and more profitable in the long run because the professional relationship is built on mutual goals and trust.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Cost may seem at first to be the most important question, but really it's the last question. Cost only reflects the level of service to be received in exchange for that cost.
